Sublimate

Filmed and recorded in Iceland, 'Sublimate' 2017 combines video projection with surround sound performance and playback. It is a companion piece to 'Obfuscate', exploring similar themes of landscape and memory, associated and disassociated storytelling with embodied exploration vocalising the sublime. A duet emerges between recorded and remembered audio visual experience exploring the fractured narrative dissolved by memory's dis-associative narrative of landscape. Shown together these works explore the performative and responsive aspects of memory and the decay of the true experience, The voice enhances the utterance of being in nature through absorption, reduction and reflection where the exposure to transitory incidentals is enhanced through elongated time.
