Re::Sonate

Site-responsive sound installation created by Holly Jarvis, performed by Holly Jarvis, Ingrid Plum and Ed Sanders at the University Of Brighton and the De La Warr Pavilion 2015. 

"Re::Sonate is a site-responsive sound installation that will be situated on and around the iconic south staircase at De La Warr Pavilion. The artwork utilises the real-time soundscape of the space, generating compositions tuned by its unique social and architectural conditions. Feedback loops occur between audience, site and performer. An active listening process is encouraged and attention is heightened to the sounds specific to the environment. Through Re::Sonate, a sonic topography is constructed that encourages sensitivity to one’s self and surroundings through increased sensory perception.  This creates a relationship between artistic practice and the urban built environment."
