Murmuration

Photography by RichardBollPhotography

In Plum’s first solo exhibition, this site-specific installation using video, multi-channel sound, field recordings, paper and fishing wire explores the histories and fractured, overlapping narratives of the modernist architecture of Embassy Court. 1000 origami birds were suspended from the ceiling in the foyer at Embassy Court, in the starling swarming formation of the murmuration, with video projection of the murmuration filmed in Brighton and surround soundscape in quadrophonic using field recordings of the murmuration. Commissioned by Bluestorm and funded by ACE & Bluestorm to celebrate the redevelopment of Embassy Court, Brighton, U.K. built in 1934.
